Several years ago, the Vietnamese government felt the need to increase competitiveness by speeding up foreign investment for the domestic and foreign companies' joint venture to promote Vietnamese economic development. Three years ago, the Vietnam Southern Food Corporation- the parent company of Ho-Chi-Minh City Food Company, initiated a sale of their 35% share to Taiwan Ve Wong. After two years of investigation  in share purchase, in January 2008, Saigon Ve Wong finally became a subsidiary company of Taiwan Ve Wong with 100% share holding.

Saigon Ve Wong's current chairman, Mr. EGAWA TAKETADA, sensed a lack of development under the joint operation system. In 2008, he conducted a vast  corporate reform in the hopes of advancing competitiveness within a limited time frame. At the same time, this provided Saigon Ve Wong employees both better pay and the very best working environment.
